Fuel Oil
Fuel oil is purchased from State contracted vendors. Orders are phoned in from the maintenance department. During designated months (normally September to March) custodians must take fuel oil tank readings and fax them in to the maintenance department. All 10,000 gallon tanks must be read the first school day of the month. Any tank under 10,000 gallons must be read weekly before noon on Monday.
While measuring the fuel oil the custodians should also be testing for water in the tanks We will provide the instructions and the solution to check for water.
Please insure that the fuel oil readings are taken correctly by the custodial staff and are faxed in according to schedule. This will prevent the tank from running out of fuel oil.
