Paid Ambassador Opportunities
Ambassadors will work approximately 8 hrs/wk and earn up to a $1,200 stipend for their assistance over the course of about six weeks. NCEC would love to hire teachers and school personnel from the area as Summer Ambassadors to help identify the best prospective corps members to serve as K-3 literacy tutors this coming school year.
North Carolina Education Corps (NCEC) is a response to the impact COVID-19 is having on schools, as students struggle to keep up with learning.
North Carolina Education Corps partners with local schools to recruit, educate, and activate corps members to support students and accelerate learning. Corps members are paid a living wage by schools to work part-time as high-impact literacy tutors grounded in the science of reading and reading instruction. Corps members will assist K-3 students with building their phonological awareness and phonics skills — foundational skills for learning how to read. Corps members and school administrators benefit from a common recruitment and application process, training, and ongoing support provided by NCEC.
Teacher Referral Incentives
Elementary school teachers in schools benefiting from NC Education corps members next year are invited to participate in the NCEC Teacher Referral Program. The first to participate will earn $50 in the form of a prepaid card. Help us find great corps members to help you and your students! Teachers simply need to provide the names and contact information of five high-quality prospective corps members and NC Education Corps will do the rest.
