SCS Plan B Revisions

The Stanly County Board of Education met on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, and voted on several revisions to the current Plan B schedule. Due to Governor Cooper’s announcement on Thursday, September 17, 2020; announcing provision for Plan A in grades PreK-5, the Board of Education met this evening in a special called meeting.  The Board approved the following revisions to be implemented the week of October 5th:


  • Elementary (K-4): will be face to face Monday through Thursday 
  • 5th Grade: 
    • Will remain housed at the middle school buildings
    • Current face to face students will report Monday through Thursday
  • Grades 6-8: 
    • Group A (A-J) current face to face students will report Monday and Tuesday 
    • Group B (K-Z) current face to face students will report Wednesday and Thursday 
  • Grades 9-12: 
    • Current face to face groups will be reduced to two groups and follow the same schedule as middle schools
    •  Group A (A-J) and Group B (K-Z) 
  • All grade levels will have remote learning days on Fridays 

In addition, elementary parent surveys will be publicized to collect feedback with students currently attending Stanly County Schools in grades PreK-5 for planning purposes to further discuss Governor Cooper’s Plan A order. All submitted surveys will be presented to the Board during the regular October 6, 2020, meeting.
