In accordance with mandated requirements of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), Stanly County Public Schools has asbestos management plans for all our facilities that are available for review. The purpose of the management plan is to assure asbestos is properly detected and controlled on a continuing basis.  Each facility has a copy of its individual plan.

Federal requirements dictate, “The local education agency shall notify in writing parent, teacher and employee organizations of the availability of management plans”. This must be done at least once annually. You must also post a memorandum so your teachers and other employees are made aware of the availability of your plan for their review.
