The SPARK Summer Camp is located at Central Elementary School and available Monday - Thursday July 8-August 1 from 1:30-4:30 PM. Families will need to provide transportation to Central Elementary for program participation; however, bus transportation will be provided home if needed. Children that have completed 1st-4th grades during the 2018-2019 school year and children that are attending the Summer Reading camp are eligible to apply. Children that are already attending Summer Reading Camp that have been accepted into the SPARK Summer Camp will be able to move from one program into the other smoothly at Central Elementary School.
A free snack will be served during the afternoon. Children will have the opportunity to explore STEM activities and careers, swim at the YMCA, receive health and nutrition information from Daniel Harkey of Atrium Health, experience boot camp with the local police departments and DARE Officers, explore art, music, and dance through the SCS arts council, experience a mini STEM camp at Pfeiffer University, and explore physical fitness with the Albemarle Parks and recreation as well as many other amazing opportunities with SCS staff and community leaders.
