SCS Graduation
Stanly County Schools recently surveyed families on which type of graduation ceremony they would prefer based on capacity limitations outlined in Executive Order No. 204, and other COVID-19 restrictions. The results of the survey are as follows: 64% voted for Option #1 which has graduation conducted on the school's athletic field, 25.4% voted for Option #3 which includes a Senior Ceremony and a drive-through graduation, and 10.5% voted for Option #2 which was a drive-through graduation only.
With the overwhelming majority of respondents voting to have graduation on their school's athletic field, Stanly County Schools will be conducting formal graduation ceremonies in the athletic stadiums of each comprehensive high school. Graduation ceremonies for choice schools will be scheduled at different times.
For the four comprehensive high schools (Albemarle, North Stanly, South Stanly, and West Stanly), graduation ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 7:00 PM.
The rain date for this event will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 9:00 AM.
More information will be forthcoming from each individual school on the number of tickets available, graduation practices, and other logistical concerns.
