Congratulations to Oakboro Choice STEM School on receiving the 2021 NC STEM Schools of Distinction award and recognition!
On Thursday, September 2nd Oakboro Choice STEM School was recognized at the livestreamed meeting of the NC State Board of Education.
We are so very proud of the accomplishments of our staff and students at Oakboro STEM.
Principal Kelly Dombrowski shared the goals, vision, and focus that the school's staff, students, and community supported in order to make Oakboro a STEM school of distinction.
STEM Coach Jennifer Crawford addressed the NC Board of Education during the meeting and shared the accomplishments of our students to include helping hurricane victims and resolving pandemic issues.
Lucas Mullis and Noah Waits were 4th Place winners in their division at last years NC State Science & Engineering Fair and were selected to represent our district in accepting the recognition. Both expressed their love of science, technology, engineering and math taught to them at Oakboro.
