Stanly County Schools is pleased to announce that Ms. Anne McLendon will serve as the Interim Principal at Millingport Elementary School from August through November.
Ms. McLendon brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this role. She began her teaching career in Raleigh, where she taught 2nd through 5th grades, before returning to Stanly County to teach 2nd through 4th grades in Richfield. Her administrative journey began as the Assistant Principal at South Stanly Middle School, followed by Principal roles at Ridgecrest Elementary, North Stanly Middle, West Stanly High, and Albemarle Middle School.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development and Education from Meredith College and a Master’s in School Administration from Western Carolina University. Ms. McLendon also served for over a decade on the NC State Board of Cognia, helping credential schools across the globe.
After retiring in 2024, Ms. McLendon continues to stay active in the community. She is a dedicated member of Kendalls Baptist Church, where she serves on the hostess and flower committees. She enjoys traveling, cooking, music, and spending time with her beloved grandson.
