Weather Preparedness Update for Stanly County Schools Families

Weather Preparedness Update for Stanly County Schools Families

While the weekend forecast remains uncertain, we want to take a moment to share how Stanly County Schools handles weather-related delays, closures, and Remote Learning Days so families feel informed and prepared.

At this time, no decision has been made.
All decisions will depend on weather conditions and safety.

Here’s what families should know:

🏫 If Schools Are “Closed”
Students do not complete any schoolwork on these days.

📖 If an Asynchronous Remote Learning Day Is Called
Students will complete the assignments in the packets sent home with them on Friday, January 23rd.

📅 Make-Up Days
Traditional make-up days are not needed unless:

  • All five Remote Learning Days allowed by the State are used, and
  • All 23 extra instructional hours built into our school calendar are used
(This year’s calendar includes 23 more hours than the 1,025 hours required by the State.)

📲 Stay Informed
Please continue to monitor Stanly County Schools official social media channels, website, and local news outlets for updates regarding weather-related decisions. We will also be sending out automated phone calls prior to closings or delays.

Thank you for your continued support as we prioritize safety while keeping learning on track.
