Stanly County Schools is pleased to announce Ms. Emily Furr as the new principal of Endy Elementary School.

Ms. Furr currently serves as principal of North Stanly Middle School, where she has completed her third year in the role. Prior to serving as principal, she was assistant principal at North Stanly Middle School and completed a year-long principal internship at North Stanly High School. Before transitioning into school administration, Ms. Furr served as a fourth grade teacher at Endy Elementary and previously taught kindergarten for four years.

Ms. Furr earned her bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University in 2009. She later completed her Graduate Certificate in Elementary Education through the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before earning her Master’s in School Administration through the PPEERS Principal Fellows Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Returning to Endy Elementary holds special meaning for Ms. Furr, as the school played an important role in her journey as an educator.

“I am most excited about serving at Endy because that was the first school where I really felt at home as an educator,” said Furr. “I love that school and community. I see so many great things already going on there and also see the potential it has to continue growing.”

Ms. Furr describes her leadership style as hands-on and team-oriented, with a focus on visibility, collaboration, and supporting both students and staff.

“My approach to leadership is hands-on and team-oriented,” she shared. “I like to be visible and involved throughout the building, focusing on student growth and utilizing teacher strengths so that the school can shine.”

Originally from Oregon, Ms. Furr enjoys reading, traveling with her family, experimenting with new recipes, and celebrating her favorite holiday — Halloween.

Stanly County Schools is excited to welcome Ms. Furr to her new role and looks forward to the leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication she will bring to the Endy Elementary community.
