Enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year will open February 1, 2026!
Most families can complete the entire enrollment process online. Please review the information below before getting started. Once reviewed, use the buttons on the right side of the page to navigate to the appropriate enrollment application.
Before You Begin
We strongly recommend reviewing the
Enrollment FAQ page before starting your application. The FAQ includes required documents, answers to common questions, and helpful tips.
How Enrollment Works
- Enrollment applications are completed online. Required documents may be uploaded directly in the application.
- Families who prefer to submit documents in person may bring them to the District Office during business hours. No appointment is required.
- Free notary services are available at the District Office. Required documents are provided in the office, and a valid photo ID is required.
- Once the application is submitted and all required documents are received, the parent or guardian will receive an email confirming enrollment. District or school staff will then contact the family with the student’s start date.
Domicile Information
Domicile requires the intent to abandon one’s prior home and remain in the new location as a permanent home for an indefinite period. In contrast, a residence need not be one’s exclusive home and does not require an intention that the residence be the permanent home.

Student Transfers
Student Transfer Requests for the 2026-2027 school year will open on December 8, 2025 and close on March 15, 2026.
According to Stanly County Schools Board Policy 4150, “Students will not be reassigned to schools that are identified as already exceeding a core facility capacity of 90% except as provided by General Statutes.”
For the 2026-2027 school year, the schools that will not be available for transfer requests will be:
- Aquadale Elementary School
- Locust Elementary School
- Stanfield Elementary School
- West Stanly Middle School
- West Stanly High School
Student Transfer requests for Stanly County Schools are completed using the ScribChoice system that can be found at the link below. Parents and guardians will create an account in the ScribChoice system and complete the appropriate form for their student.
Upon completing the application for Student Transfer, the parent/guardian can then upload required documents into the system for review by our District Transfer Committee.
Once the application is complete and any supporting documents are received, the parent/guardian will receive a notification of the transfer decision via email once the transfer window has closed.

Release from Stanly County Schools
District Releases for the 2026-2027 school year will open on February 15, 2026.
A "District Release" is requested when a parent or legal guardian is domiciled in Stanly County but requests their child(ren) be enrolled in a different county. District Release applications MUST be approved by the Board of Education. The Board meets on the first Tuesday of each month. Requests are processed on the next business day following each Board meeting. Notification of the Board's decision is sent via email.
District Release requests for Stanly County Schools are completed using the ScribChoice system that can be found at the link below. Parents and guardians will create an account in the ScribChoice system and complete the appropriate form for their student.
