Ms. Lea Curlee - EC Teacher
Hello and welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am excited about starting my sixth year at Central as an EC teacher. Needless to say, the past eighteen months has been a challenge for everyone however, I believe we are nearing the return of "normal" and I couldn't be happier.
This will be my 28th year of teaching in North Carolina. For the first twenty-two years of my career, I taught special education classes at the high-school level. I have taught in Roxboro, Raleigh, Lenoir, Greensboro, and Charlotte. I obtained my BS in Special Education at Western Carolina University and then later went to Appalachian State University to get my Masters Degree in Exceptional Children. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and working with all students. I love talking with my students and establishing relationships with them that reflect how much I care and want them to be successful in whatever they choose to do. I want to instill in them a desire to take chances, work hard, do their best, and never give up. I try to encourage them daily and let them know how smart and capable I think they are. Seeing them smile and beam with excitement when they learn something new is a priceless gift for this teacher.
I’m expecting great things from my students this year. They will be awesome! Please feel free to contact me anytime throughout the year if you have any questions or concerns.
