Pre-K Services

Providing services to preschoolers with developmental delays ages 3-5.

Our goal is to provide services in order for your child to be successful in all school environments. The early years are the most important times for development and have a lasting impact on your child’s future. Let us help get your child off to a great start!

Once a referral is made to the preschool program, Stanly County Schools Preschool will hold a meeting to discuss your child’s current strengths and needs in order to determine if your child will need an evaluation. If a full evaluation is needed, your child, along with parent or guardian, will participate in a Trans-disciplinary Play-Based Assessment where you, as a parent or guardian, can contribute to the comprehensive developmental picture of your child in the areas of:

*Cognition

*Motor

*Adaptive

*Communication

*Social/Emotional

Stanly County Schools requires the following information when starting the evaluation and eligibility process for consideration of Exceptional Children services:

*An original certified copy of the child’s birth certificate

*Current immunization record

*Proof of residency

After determining eligibility you will help participate in the educational planning of your child’s Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
