Behavioral Support

Behavioral Support

The Behavior Support team works closely with the Exceptional Children’s Director, Central Office support staff, teachers, administrators and related service personnel to:

*Decrease the number of in-school and out of school suspensions related to behavioral issues.

*Increase appropriate student behavior and coping skills during times of crisis.

*Improve parent and staff communication and skills in reducing problem behavior at home and in the classroom.

Team members play a significant role in supporting the district’s efforts to decrease the student drop-out rate and disciplinary referrals through positive behavior interventions and support. The primary focus is on  Exceptional Children students identified under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) law as qualifying for PRC 29 support. Our goal is to maximize both the teaching and learning experience for all students.
