HANDICAP LIFT INSPECTIONS (NC Dept of Labor)
The inspection report is received by the school immediately following the inspection by the NC Department of Labor. Send the original inspection report to the Maintenance Department via courier. This inspection report includes an invoice which we will submit for payment. Maintenance will prepare the work orders needed to address the deficiencies from the inspection report.
FOOD SERVICE INSPECTIONS (Stanly County Health Dept)
A copy of the cafeteria food handling inspection report completed by the local Health Department should be faxed to the Maintenance Department as soon as possible. A work order will be prepared to address the deficiencies from the inspection report. We will then send an email to the cafeteria manager and Child Nutrition Director indicating the issues we will address.
FIRE EXTINGUISHER INSPECTION (Custodians & Contractor)
All fire extinguishers should be checked monthly by the custodians and indicated so on the tag attached to each extinguisher. Call the Maintenance Department to report any extinguishers that need to be serviced with location and type of extinguisher.
All extinguishers are inspected annually by an outside contractor to comply with Fire Safety Laws.
CAFETERIA HOOD SUPPRESSIONS SYSTEMS (Contractor)
The hood fire suppression systems in all cafeterias are inspected semi-annually by an outside contractor. These reports are maintained at the Maintenance Department and all repairs are authorized by them.
DPI INSURANCE INSPECTIONS
Entire school properties are inspected annually by the Department of Public Instruction Insurance representative. This representative is accompanied by the Maintenance Department and given full access to the school buildings/grounds. In the event that deficiencies are noted on the report, the Maintenance Department will contact the school and request that corrective action be taken. If the deficiency is structural, the Maintenance Department will assess for repairs.
