Integrated Pest Management
The School Children's Health Act was recently enacted by the NC State Legislature. This new law requires that all school systems notify parents and staff yearly of there right to be notified prior to certain pesticide applications. It further requires the development of an Integrated Pest Management Policy by the year 2011 that will manage the elimination of pests without the routine use of pesticides. Stanly County Public Schools are working to develop this policy. Until an Integrated Pest Management Policy is adopted we will incorporate the best practices of IPM in our control of pest within the school system.
